JANUARY, 16-17:Workshops and educational program for "young clubs" animators from Ministery of Women and Childrens

FEBRUARY, 25-29: Participation ( 2 persons) to the 3rd Universe Awareness workshop, Leiden (hollande)

MARCH, 17-30 : Workshops and seminars on Astronomy of school chilrens (during spring holidays)

MARCH , 24-27 : Participation to the International conference on "History of sciences in Arab-Muslims countries" ( astronomy, medecine, art, .......)

APRIL, 5-10 :Presentation of Tunisian "Universe Awareness" project to MEARIM2008 (Cairo,Egypt)

MARCH to JUNE:On site-visit to 14 "Young clubs" (Ministery of Women and Childrens)

The International Year of Astronomy 2009
Primary Program

Activities:

Organization of astronomy workshops every Friday
during the year 2009.
Organization of an astronomy evening every month according to the 2009
astronomical agenda.

Organization of special days of Sun observation, starting from May 2009.


Organization of three events as follows:

100 hours of astronomy from the 2nd to the 5th April, 2009 (according to the international program).
50 hours of astronomy from 27th to 28th of June, 2009.
50 hours of astronomy from 12th to13tn of September 2009 ( second half of
the holy month of Ramadan).
Organization of a summer school, during the summer of 2009, for children whom the age ranges from 12 and 16 years old. 


Organization of a first meeting that will gather all amateur astronomers in Tunisia ,
in March, 2009.

Organization of astronomy event in August entitled the night of stars.
Organization of a series of astronomy evenings off-site, in as much as possible regions.


Resources:

Conception of an exhibition on astronomy by gathering the different educational program that have already been implemented in the preceding workshops. The aim of the exhibition is to enrich the mini planetarium activity program.
Conception of a special astronomy show in the planetarium about ancient Arab Astronomy.
Translation of the IAU publications (the International Astronomical Union) into
Arabic.

Translation of the power point presentation related to the International year of Astronomy. This work will be achieved no latter than May 23rd, 2008.
Organization of a guided visit to the Universe pavilion.
The publication of a various brochures outlining the most important astronomical Phenomena.

Publication of an agenda of the most important phenomena.
setting up of a web page at the website of the Tunis Science City dealing with the International Year of Astronomy 2009.

Publication of a special issue of Al Madar Junior about the International Year of Astronomy2009.

Broadcasting of a video tape on “ the International Year of Astronomy 2009
Conception of an Astronomy program meant for children, to be implemented during The year 2009.

The Astro-Bus
15 days a month, throughout 2009
A bus equipped with exhibitions, telescopes, materials workshops, and broadcasting means, intended to tour the country.

Hebdo-Astro
Friday afternoons, throughout 2009
Workshops at Tunis Sciences City run by mediators for pupils who wish to undertake a project for completion by the year's end.
